These are pictures of Pune's Dhobi's ghat on Shankarshet Road. Most people have seen what Mumbai's dhobi ghat looks like, but most cities in India have their own little dhobi ghats, often several of them.
Clothes have the dirt beaten out of them on the stones, either by hitting the stones with the clothes or hitting the clothes with thick wooden sticks. The small concrete tanks near the stones hold water.
The two photographs below were clicked on a different day. The blue skies and the clear atmosphere make the easier on the eyes!
